John Petrakis Field

aka Johnny Petrakis Field
aka John Petrakis Park
aka Petrakis Park
aka 4th Street Park
originally Municipal Stadium

According to the City of Dubuque website, Petrakis Field was constructed in 1915. It was originally Municipal Stadium. The field hosted the Dubuque Packers from 1954 through 1976. The name was changed before the 1967 season. The current Petrakis Field on Chaplain Schmitt Island is not the same facility.

I'm looking for a suitable photograph of Petrakis Field--preferably one which is not already available on another website. Drop me a line if you can help.

Source of Name: Named for long-time Dubuque baseball promoter John Petrakis. Petrakis, a local businessman, was the team president for many of Dubuque's Midwest League seasons.
