Baseball in Paducah

Brooks Stadium

Brooks Stadium hosted the Paducah Chiefs in the MWL predecessor Mississippi-Ohio Valley League in 1949 and 1950. The ballpark is still in use and hosts American Legion and high school baseball.

Brooks Stadium hosted the first Mississippi-Ohio Valley League All-Star Game in 1949.


Source of Name: Brooks Stadium was named for J. Polk Brooks, who constructed the ballpark in 1948. Brooks was Vice President of the Mississippi-Ohio Valley League while his team was active in our league.

The Midwest League plays Single-A, professional baseball in America's agricultural and industrial heartland. 16 teams play a 140 game schedule which begins in early April and ends Labor Day weekend.
