Baseball in Paducah

Player Roster

Players who played for teams in Paducah, Kentucky, during its tenure as a Mississippi-Ohio Valley League city (the MOV is a Midwest League predecessor). This list includes all players and coaching staff members I can identify, and selected front office staff. There are almost certainly players missing from this list, as the available sources are known to be incomplete.

Players who played in Paducah for both MOV seasons are listed twice.

48 different players are listed on this page (1 of whom played in the majors), as are 6 non-playing personnel.

My intention is to include everyone who wore a Paducah uniform on an MOV diamond. While the information here is intended to be both complete and accurate, it's likely that there are omissions and the scale of the project guarantees errors; there's a lot of data here, from a variety of sources, all of which was originally in another format.

Name hyperlinks go to the player's minor league career page on Baseball-Reference.com, compiled by SABR's Minor Leagues Committee. MLB hyperlinks go to the player's major league career page on Baseball-Reference.com. ASG hyperlinks go to the game account on this website.

Key to Notes:

  • HOF means Elected to Baseball Hall of Fame.
  • MLB means Appeared in Major Leagues.
  • DNP means On the roster at some point, but no there's record that he played.
  • PSAS means Selected to Post Season All-Star Team.
  • ASG means Selected to Mid-Season All-Star Game. (ASG† means he was game MVP. ASG* means he appeared in the game as a member of the host team.).

This list was compiled from a number of sources, including those listed below. It was checked against both Pat Doyle's Professional Baseball Player Database and SABR's Minor League Statistics Database. Inevitably, there are errors; those are mine.
