Midwest League Managers

Oscar Acosta

One Midwest League season:

Playing Career

  • Drafted/Signed: Phillies, apparently as a free agent, 1978 (Pitcher)
  • Professional Career: Three years in the low minors in the Phillies system, and 1982 in the Mexican League.
  • Midwest League: Never played in the Midwest League.

Management style

Acosta's teams played for big innings--bunts and steals were not his style; neither were intentional walks or complete games. Steal attempts, while relatively rare, were unusually successful.
