Midwest League Managers

Freddie Benavides

Two Midwest League seasons:

Playing Career

  • Drafted/Signed: Reds, second round, 1987 (Shortstop, Texas Christian University).
  • Professional Career: Ten professional seasons; appeared in 219 major league games with the Reds, Rockies, and Expos.
  • Midwest League: Played for Cedar Rapids in 1987 and 1988.

Management style

Benevides is a pretty conservative minor league manager; generally speaking his teams don't run or bunt, and he rarely calls for intentional passes.
