Midwest League Managers

Tim Blackwell

One Midwest League season:

Playing Career

  • Drafted/Signed: Boston Red Sox, 1970, 13th round (Crawford HS, San Diego, CA; Third Baseman-Catcher)
  • Professional Career: Played ten big league seasons as a backup catcher for Boston, Philadelphia, Montreal, and the Cubs.
  • Midwest League: Never played in the Midwest League.

Management style

Blackwell's teams play for single runs; they bunt, they steal lots of bases. He rarely calls for intentional walks, though.
