Midwest League Managers

Ken Bolek

One Midwest League season:

Playing Career

  • Drafted/Signed: Tigers, 24th round, 1976 (Outfielder, University of Arizona)
  • Professional Career: Three years in the Tigers system, split about equally between the Midwest and Southern Leagues. Played briefly at the Triple-A level.
  • Midwest League: Played for Clinton in 1976, and for Waterloo in 1978.

Management style

Bolek was more likely than most managers to let the starting pitcher finish the game; his teams also bunted a lot.

Bolek has been director of The Baseball Academy in Bradenton since 1995.
