Midwest League Managers

Daren Brown

Playing Career

  • Drafted/Signed: Toronto Blue Jays, 29th round, 1989 (RHP, Southeastern Oklahoma State University).
  • Professional Career: 6 years in Toronto's system, then several years at Amarillo in the independent Texas-Louisiana League (including two as player/manager).
    • Brown was the Texas-Louisiana League MVP in 1995, Co-Pitcher of the Year in 1997, and Most Valuable Pitcher in 1998.
  • Midwest League: Never played in the Midwest League.

Management style

Brown's teams, so far, show no pronounced tendencies. Brown let Jamal Strong run wild in 2001, but most managers would have. Most of his teams have qualified for the post-season playoffs in their leagues, which is an accomplishment worthy of noting.
