Midwest League Managers

Wayne Cato

Two Midwest League seasons:

Playing Career

  • Drafted/Signed: Giants, evidently a free agent, 1975? (?, University of Texas-Pan American)
  • Professional Career: Four professional seasons in the Giants system, plus a couple games with Clinton in 1980.
  • Midwest League: MWL MVP for Cedar Rapids in 1976 (and those two 1980 Clinton games).

Management style

Wayne Cato was a "Little Ball" manager; his teams ran fairly frequently (and well), and bunted fairly often. On the pitching side, he was fairly conventional.
