Professional Career: Fourteen professional seasons, mostly in the Phillies system; also spent a year in Japan. Appeared in 16 major league games for the Phils in 1963.

Management style

Emery was a pretty conventional minor league manager. Early in his career, he called for a lot of intentional walks and sacrifice bunts, but those tendencies subsided with experience.
