Midwest League Managers

Tom Gamboa

One Midwest League season:

Playing Career

  • Drafted/Signed: Never played in Professional Baseball's farm system.
  • Professional Career: Never played in Organized Ball. Managed, and played center field, at Stratford, Ontario (Canadian Baseball League) in 1971 & 1972.
  • Midwest League: Never played in the Midwest League.

Management style

Gamboa likes to see the guys run. If there's any running talent on the team, those players have the green light.

Gamboa's mainly a coach, not a manager. When he's managed, it's often been in a fill-in role.

The Midwest League plays Single-A, professional baseball in America's agricultural and industrial heartland. 16 teams play a 140 game schedule which begins in early April and ends Labor Day weekend.
