Midwest League Managers

Bill Hayes

One Midwest League season:

Playing Career

  • Drafted/Signed: Cubs, 1st round (13th selection), 1978 (Catcher; Indiana State University)
  • Professional Career: 10 years; mostly with the Iowa Cubs at the Triple-A level. Appeared in five major league games for the big league Cubbies.
  • Midwest League: Never played in the Midwest League.

Management style

Hayes always liked the sacrifice bunt, and his teams were fairly reckless on the basepaths. His use of intentional walks, over the years, was surprisingly inconsistent.
