Midwest League Managers

Rudy Jaramillo

One Midwest League season:

Playing Career

  • Drafted/Signed: Rangers, 29th round, 1973 (outfielder, University of Texas).
  • Professional Career: Four minor league seasons--three at the Double-A level--in the Texas organization.
  • Midwest League: Never played in the Midwest League.

Management style

All in all, Jaramillo was a very conservative manager. His teams ran only when things were fairly certain to break their way--which worked rather successfully--and they hardly ever bunted. On defense, his pitchers were rarely permitted to finish the game.
