Midwest League Managers

Wendell Kim

One Midwest League season:

Playing Career

  • Drafted/Signed: Giants, free agent, 1973 (?)
  • Professional Career: Seven minor league seasons, at practically every level in the Giants organization.
  • Midwest League: Played for Decatur in 1973.

Management style

Kim-managed teams have been fairly likely to bunt; they've not been particularly aggressive on the base paths. This is oddly contrary to his reputation as a major league third base coach, where he's notorious for sending baserunners home in high-risk situations.

Kim has long been active in Korean baseball during the off-season.
