Midwest League Managers

Dave Miley

Two Midwest League seasons:

Playing Career

  • Drafted/Signed: Reds, 2nd round, 1980 (Shortstop/third baseman, Saguaro HS, Scottsdale, Arizona).
  • Professional Career: Eight minor league seasons, entirely in the Reds organization.
  • Midwest League: Played at Cedar Rapids for all of 1981 and part of 1985.

Management style

Miley's always been pretty conservative about all the tactical things which go on during the game; his teams rarely bunt, don't often steal bases, and hardly ever issue intentional walks. Except for his major league stint at Cincy, he's been unfailingly successful at all levels of play.
