Midwest League Managers

Gaylen Pitts

Two Midwest League seasons:

Playing Career

  • Signed: St. Louis Cardinals, free agent, 1964
  • Professional Career: 13 professional seasons, mainly at the Triple-A level. Pitts appeared in 28 games for Oakland in 1974 & 1975.
  • Midwest League: Played for Cedar Rapids in 1965 and 1966.

Management style

There's nothing particularly unusual about Pitts' play selection at this time. When he was younger, he liked to call for sacrifice bunts, but his recent usage has been conventional.
