Midwest League Managers

Joe Rigoli

One Midwest League season:

Playing Career

  • Drafted/Signed: Oakland, free agent, 1978.
  • Professional Career: Two seasons in the low minors, plus his MWL appearances.
  • Midwest League: Rigoli pitched in 4 games--a total of 7 innings--while he managed at Springfield in 1984.

Management style

Joe Rigoli was a rather conservative manager. His baserunners only stole when they were very likely to succeed, and he rarely asked his hitters to sacrifice. On the pitching side, he was not inclined to issue intentional walks.

Rigoli has run In the Swing, a baseball academy in Waldwick, NJ, since 1990.
