  • Drafted/Signed: Cardinals, free agent, 1959.
  • Professional Career: Thirteen minor league seasons, in the Cardinals, Cubs, and Reds organizations; usually at the Triple-A level.
  • Midwest League: Played for Keokuk in 1960.

Management style

Jim Saul started out as a fairly conventional minor league manager, but turned extremely conservative as he aged.

The Midwest League plays Single-A, professional baseball in America's agricultural and industrial heartland. 16 teams play a 140 game schedule which begins in early April and ends Labor Day weekend.
