Playing Career

Drafted/Signed: Yankees, 17th round, 1981 (Shortstop; Ellsworth [ME] HS).
Professional Career: Nine minor league seasons, split about equally between Double-A and Triple-A, mostly in the Yankees system. Appeared in three games for the Athletics in 1989.

Midwest League: Never played in the Midwest League.

Management style

Scott's teams were pretty conservative on the basepaths, and he was an early-adopter of strong pitch limits. His use of the bunt was unusually variable, which perhaps reflected changing talent availability.
