Midwest League Managers

Mitch Seoane

Seven MWL seasons, including two partial compaigns:

Playing Career

  • Drafted/Signed: Yankees, free agent, 1983 (second base, University of Miami).
    • Had been drafted by the Tigers in the 1979 draft and by the Indians in the 1980 draft.
  • Professional Career: Played 6 years in the Yankees and Angels organizations.
  • Midwest League: Never played in the Midwest League.

Management style

Seoane's been a fairly conventional Midwest League manager, though perhaps a touch more conservative than most. When he was in the Angels organization, his pitchers routinely led the league in complete games--this was an organizational trait, not necessarily Seoane's preference.

It's clear that Mitch is still working in the Yankees organization, though I'm not sure what his precise responsibilities include. He's doing some batting practice pitching.
