Midwest League Managers

Jeff Shireman

Two Midwest League seasons:

Playing Career

  • Drafted/Signed: Cardinals, 23rd round, 1988 (shortstop, Georgia Southern).
  • Professional Career: Seven years in the Cards' system; three of those at Arkansas.
  • Midwest League: Played for Springfield in 1989.

Management style

Generally, Shireman was a pretty conservative manager; he was a bit more prone to call for sacrifice bunts than most.
