Midwest League Managers

Rick Sweet

One Midwest League season:

Playing Career

  • Drafted/Signed: Padres, 3rd round, January secondary phase, 1975 (Catcher; Gonzaga University).
  • Professional Career: Nine professional seasons, including three big league seasons at San Diego, New York (Mets), and Seattle.
  • Midwest League: Never played in the Midwest League.

Management style

All in all, Sweet is a fairly conventional minor league manager. He's a bit more likely to call for bunts than most, and he'll let a good baserunner run free.
