Midwest League 1976All-Star GameIowa Oaks 5, All-Stars 3Clinton, Monday, July 12, 1976The 1976 Midwest League All-Star Game was played at Riverview Stadium in Clinton on July 12, 1976. A team of the league's best players, selected by the league's managers and sports writers, faced the American Association's Iowa Oaks. The Stars' infield committed three consecutive ninth-inning errors to hand the Oaks an unearned victory in a match the writeups say the Triple-A visitors weren't taking seriously. Kurt Best was the winning pitcher for Iowa; Clinton's Mike Elders pitched well, but took the loss for the Stars. |
