Where they played last season

This is a brief portrait of how the team was put together. These summaries are based on the team's opening day roster and will not be revised to reflect roster changes.

The Diamondbacks seem to have awarded the system's best young pitchers to South Bend this summer. The offense mainly played for Missoula, where they were fairly successful.

Team League W/L Place Hitters Pitchers
                                    (Teams)
High Desert California (A+) 68/72 6(10) 1 4
South Bend Midwest (A) 68/71 9(14) 4 5
Missoula Pioneer (R+) 45/31 3(8) 10 3
Diamondbacks Arizona (R) 24/32 6(8) 1 2

A few players were moved last summer and are counted twice in this table. Two of the new Hawks played in other organizations in 1999, and one did not play professionally last year. One player was briefly on a Double-A roster.
